Roscommon is widely acknowledged as an established destination and has hosted numerous national and international angling competitions. Both river and lake fishing is available.
Coarse fish species include tench, bream, rudd, hybrids, pike and eels. Game fish speciesinclude wild salmon, grilse, sea trout and brown trout.
Roscommon's fisheries are constantly monitored and maintained by the Fisheries Board so that a high degree of excellence is assured at all times with respect to water quality, angling requirements and fish stocks.
