Everything we hoped for & more“Grace and the wedding team in Kilronan were just amazing. From our first day down there for a viewing, to the day before the wedding dropping down the last few bits, to the wedding day itself, we were always made feel special and valued. Emails with the coordinators were always responded to quickly. All our questions and requests were answered and nothing was a problem. Throughout the process we always felt that the team were there for us when we needed and they were there to support and guide us when we wanted it. On the day itself, smiling and happy staff greeted us and our guests at every step. The service and food was absolutely top class. So many of our guests commented on the food – so much of it and so tasty! Vegetarian/vegan menu was fabulous too as well as the main menu. Anyone with dietary restrictions felt very welcome and accommodated also. Bar service was also excellent throughout the day and into the night. We were genuinely so happy with everything and we are delighted to have picked Kilronan Castle as our wedding venue. We look forward to plenty of future visits!”

Q: How many guest can Kilronan Castle cater for?
A: Kilronan Castle caters for weddings of all sizes, from intimate celebrations for just two guests to larger receptions of up to 360 guests in our beautiful Grand Ballroom.
Q: How many bedrooms are allocated to a wedding?
A: Kilronan Castle has 85 luxurious bedrooms. For your wedding night, we can allocate up to 40 bedrooms exclusively for your wedding guests. If you are also hosting a pre- or post-wedding celebration with us, we can offer an additional allocation of up to 20 bedrooms for that occasion, subject to availability.
Q: Do you have a designated Bridal Suite?
A: We offer four beautiful authentic Castle Suites for couples to choose from for their wedding night. We want your stay to be as relaxing and enjoyable as possible, so if you are staying for more than one night, you will be allocated the same suite for the duration of your stay, allowing you to settle in and enjoy every moment without the need to change rooms.
Q: Can you cater for Pre & Post Wedding Parties?
A: Absolutely! Our beautiful Dungeon Bar, with its fabulous terrace and outdoor seating overlooking the lake, is an ideal setting for pre- and post-wedding celebrations. During the summer months, it is perfect for relaxed BBQs, while in the winter, guests can enjoy informal buffets beside the warmth of the open fires.

Q: Are you licenced for Civil Ceremonies?
A: Yes, we are fully licensed to host civil ceremonies at the Castle. Couples can choose between two beautiful wedding venue settings: our Grand Ballroom or the Lake Terrace, offering a picturesque outdoor setting. Room hire and set-up fees apply.
Q: Is there a local Church that we can use?
A: Ballyfarnon and Keadue are the nearest villages with Catholic churches, while the nearest Protestant church is located in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Q: What style of top tables do you offer at your Wedding Venue?
A: We offer a choice of top table layouts to suit your wedding reception. Our traditional straight top table can be positioned on the raised stage, accommodating up to 16 guests, or on the floor, seating up to 20 guests. Alternatively, we offer an oval top table, which can accommodate up to 20 guests.
Q: Where would the Drinks Reception be?
A: We have a number of beautiful spaces available for your drinks reception. The Dungeon Bar, located on the lower ground floor of the Castle, offers a private setting with plush seating and elegant décor. During the summer months, our Lake Terrace, with its outdoor seating and picturesque surroundings, is another wonderful option.
Q: Do you have Microphone for Speeches?
A: Yes, we have a full PA system and microphone available for speeches. We also provide a projector and screen for any PowerPoint presentations or other visual displays.
Q: Do you cater for Dietary Requirements?
A: We cater for all dietary requirements and preferences. These will be discussed with your Wedding Coordinator at your pre-wedding meeting, approximately three months before your wedding, to ensure every guest is well catered for.
Q: Do you do menu tastings?
A: Yes, we offer menu tastings for our wedding couples, typically scheduled approximately three months before the wedding. A wine tasting is also arranged at this stage, giving couples the opportunity to sample and select their preferred wines for the day.
We also offer couples an exclusive reduced B&B rate should they wish to stay overnight and make a special occasion of it (subject to availability).
